Dr. Julie Hereford, PT, MS(R), PhD, DPT
Julie Hereford is a doctor of physical therapy. She has 25 years of experience in physical therapy practice and has specialized in manual and manipulative therapy, and orthopedics. She has practiced in multiple areas of physical therapy such as sports medicine (including work with a professional baseball team), work injury management, multidisciplinary chronic pain management, treatment of tempromandibular joint dysfunction, and women's health.
Dr. Hereford has taught many courses for physical therapy and anatomy, both at the university level and for continuing education. She enjoys working with patients in the clinic as well as teaching and learning from other medical professionals. Dr. Hereford graduated from St. Louis University with a BS in Physical Therapy and a Master’s of Science in Research from the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology in 1989. As part of this program, she performed original research comparing the effect of ultrasound, intra-articular injection and phonophoreseis on the morphology of articular cartilage and other joint structures which was presented at state, national, and international conferences.
Dr. Hereford completed a Doctorate in Physical Therapy and was named the Graduate with Distinction for her work in that program. In addition to national and state PT organizations, Dr. Hereford is a member of Sigma Xi Research Society and served on the Executive Board of Occupational Injury Prevention and Rehabilitation Society. She lectures frequently to colleagues as well as to community groups. Course presentations have included a variety of manual therapy technique courses, basic science review courses, and anatomical dissection courses. Dr. Hereford is the president and co-founder of CORE Services in St. Louis, MO.
In her private life, Dr. Hereford enjoys time with her family, especially with her son, Henry. She is an avid knitter, reader, and can often be found reading the latest professional journals as well as American history, especially as it pertains to native cultures, the "Old West", and the American Civil War.
Nancy Hammond, PT
Nancy earned her degree in physical therapy from St. Louis University where she played field hockey for the Billikins. She specializes in manual therapy and enjoys working with low back and postural restoration issues. Nancy continues studying through the Postural Restoration Institute and looks forward to sitting for the certification exam in the near future.
She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, cooking, and keeping physically active. Nancy has run 16 marathons! She is originally from St. Louis, MO.
Lesley Callaham, MPT
Lesley received her Master's of Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri, Columbia (MIZ-ZOU!). She has a strong orthopedic background and really enjoys treating neck and jaw dysfunction. She is currently co-treating our jaw joint patients with Dr. Duane Keller at his office on Thursdays. She hopes to sit for the Clinical Orthopedic Specialist exam in the near future.
Lesley is originally from St. Louis and enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and following her beloved Tigers. She stays fit by eating right, walking, and chasing her son around.
Dr. Melani Willenbrink, DPT
Melani received her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Missouri, Columbia where she volunteered her time as an Arthritis Foundation Program instructor. She enjoys working with orthpedic patients, particularly those with low back and neck/jaw issues.
Melani is originally from Chesterfield, MO and likes to spend her time trying out new restaurants, traveling, and cooking. She stays active by taking Insanity and Turbokick classes at her local gym.
Lori Brinkman, ATC CSCS, PTA, PRC
Lori is originally from St. Louis, MO and received her degree in Human Nutrition from the University of Missouri, Columbia followed quickly by obtaining her certification as an athletic trainer, strength and conditioning specialist, and physical therapist assistant. Since then, she has been very busy seeking additional education including a Postrual Restitution Institute PRC certification in 2012. She specializes in treating sports related injuries, balance issues, visual dysfunction, and post-stroke rehabilitation.
Lori is also a certified USA level II rugby coach and enjoys being outdoors, either moutain biking or hiking. She stays healthy by eating right, exercising daily, and staying away from computers and television.
Dan McLeod, MS, ATC
Dan is from Moweaqua, IL and received his Masters' in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Illinois State University. He has been with CORE since 2004; first as an athletic trainer at Ritenour Highschool, but now focuses on aquatic therapy, balance dysfunction, and strength training at CORE's clinic.
Dan enjoys spending time with hisfamily, woodworking, and watching sports. He has run several half-marathons and is currently trying to get back into the training routine.
Mark Murray, LPC, BCB
Mark Murray is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Missouri since 1991 and a Board Certified Biofeedback Practitioner since 1981. He completed his B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Sociology from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville in 1975. In March of 1979, he received another minor in Biology and his Master of Science in Counselor Education in 1980, again from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. Mark earned his National Certification in 1981 from the Biofeedback Certification Institute of America in Louisville, Kentucky.
Mark has been working with biofeedback techniques with individuals for physical problems, migraines, exercise, sleep management, and anxiety. He has had extensive experience in teaching relaxation and stress management techniques to individuals and groups, giving workshops to (then) McDonnell-Douglas, various schools and churches in St. Charles, MO and in-services to area hospitals. Mark was at St. Louis University Hospital for 10 years, where he worked as a Bio Behavioral Therapist in the department of Behavioral Medicine/Psychiatry and later at SSM Rehab with chronic pain patients.
Mark has used his educational and professional expertise to help others grow and teaching them to reduce/deal with their problems in a healthier way. He has, through his skills and knowledge of relaxation, biofeedback, and most recently, his study of neurofeedback, been able to build a foundation for helping others with problems that they have not been able to find help for from other sources. Mark’s professional objective has always been to “see new ideas born and to help them grow along with the concepts already there.” Now, 30 years later, this is still Mark’s objective as he is continuing his training with new treatment techniques.
Mark has worked in the greater St. Louis area since 1980.
Gregory Mebruer, LPC
Greg is a Licensed Professional Counselor and earned his Master's in Counseling from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.
He has worked with children, adolescents, and adults dealing with trauma, behavioral problems, abuse, anger, ADHD, and depression. He worked for several private agencies specializing in the preservation of the family unit through direct counseling and care with individual families. This experience allowed him to work directly with schools, governemnt agencies, court systems, medical professionals, private agencies, and community resources.
Greg enjoys constantly learning new modalities and strategies to help his clients. He is certified in EMDR, a specialized tool to treat trauma. He will complete a 300 hour training for trauma, attachment, and developement issues through the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute (SPI). He is also working on completing his board certification in biofeedback and neurofeedback.
Greg loves meeting new people and helping them improve their relationships and abiility to enjoy their lives.
Theresa Beach, Esq.
Theresa has been the Practice Manager at CORE since 2009. Originally from San Mateo, CA, she earned both her Master's in Health Administration and J.D. from St. Louis University. She specializes in Healthcare Law but really excels at helping patients their insurance problems.
She enjoys reading, hiking, and baking. She stays healthy by eating right and loves finding locally grown fruits and vegetables.
Art Frank
Art has been with CORE since 2009. Prior to joining our team, he spent 32 years as Assistant Director of Training for a national automotive company. He has lived his entire life in St. Luois and just recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife, Ruth Ann. Together they enjoy collecting bells and are members ofthe St. Louis Worl's Fair Society. He enjoys speinding time with his grandkids and is an avid Cardinal fan.
Karen Sue Loretto
Karen Sue is a grandmother of three girls, Vanessa, Carly, and Christina. Vanessa and her mother, Amy, live with her along with their three dogs (Aidenn, Monty, and Rallo), and one cat (Fat Cat), one crested gecko, and a ball boa snake. You could say their home is a little more like a zoo!
Karen Sue has worked at CORE since 2010 as one of the part-time receptionists. She enjoys working at CORE with their great staff and patients!
Karen Sue loves to cross-stitch, read, go to the movies, and go out to eat. She also loves to get together with her family members.
